We are pleased to share exciting news regarding a planned expansion at Karonhianónhnha Tsi
lonterihwaienstáhkhwa. This project represents an important step forward in supporting our students, staff, and families by addressing space needs that have grown over time.
The expansion will add much-needed learning, wellness, and community spaces to better support the educational, social, and emotional needs of our students, as well as the daily work of our staff. This additional space will allow us to enhance existing programs and introduce new opportunities for students and families.
What the Expansion Will Include:
- 2 Health Classrooms
- 2 Regular Classrooms
- 1 Breakfast Club of Space
- 1 Dedicated Daycare Room
- 1 Staff Room
- 1 Community Kitchen
- 1 Occupational Therapy (OT) Room
- 1 Counsellor's Room (with flexibility to be
used as a classroom if needed)
In addition, the expansion will provide:
- Additional student washrooms on both floors
- Additional staff washrooms
These upgrades will significantly improve daily comfort, accessibility, and functionality for everyone in the building.
Construction Timeline
Construction for the Karonhianonhnha expansion is scheduled to begin at the end of the current school year, in June 2026. Every effort will be made to ensure that planning and construction activities prioritize student safety and minimize disruption to school operations.
